My magazine is targeted at the age demographic of 18-34 year old “mainstreamers” who are a socio economic group that are known to like bargains and live by their means. So therefore a lot of my content will be targeted towards that social group. Initially, my magazine will be called “The Rising Lead.” I have chosen this title as my magazine will feature new and upcoming actors such as the one featured in my article and double page spread Larissa Johansson who is a young actress The word "Lead" reflects the magazines background as it is focused around television and visual entertainment. Furthermore, I intend to use colours such as beige within the title of the front cover as the chosen socio-economic group are attracted to colours with a shorter wavelength. This also reinforces Hall’s representation theory as stereotyping a people group is a form of representation. Additionally, my front cover featured a mid-shot of the main character in order for the audience to emphasise both the actor and their surroundings by giving them an equal presence on the screen. Despite my front cover being colourful and having the typical code conventions of a musical due to the bright greenery in the background I chose to use a darker image with blueish lighting to connote a crime drama type of scenery. Crime is often complexed with people often having many theories as to why certain things happened which is why I chose a dark background. I intend to have the background colours to be midnight blue, cold lighting which often has connotations of alienation reflecting the show’s genre. The double page spread will include a brief interview with the protagonist and what she enjoyed about the production process of the television series. Additionally, the main image of my double page spread follows the typical conventions of Neale’s genre theory as the protagonist is dressed in dark clothing which is often associated with crime and represents seriousness, confidence and superiority which is essential for the main character. My audio visual was going to feature a slow motion low angle tilt of the main protagonist who would be surrounded by a dark suburban background. Her facial expression would remain emotionless to suggest fear to the audience which is a key convention of a crime drama. I would then include a faster paced shot of her running into the dark run-down city. The camera should them shift to a point of view shot from her perspective as she is running which emphasises the characters reaction
